Our Team
Kelly Styles, Scientist & Co-Founder
Kelly is a PhD graduate of Victoria University of Wellington where he worked on the genomics of New Zealand fungi, developed bioinformatics software, and investigated natural product biosynthesis.
He previously worked in the Synthetic Biology team at Biotelliga Ltd., where he helped to develop fungal-derived crop protection products.
Kelly also holds a MSc where he investigated the origin and genetic basis for alkaloid natural products from the insect-pathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii.
In addition, Kelly is a founding committee member of SynBioNZ, an organisation with aims to connect NZ-based researchers in the Synthetic Biology field and educate the public about the use of these techniques.
